Graeme Prowse has over 20 years experience in dealing with income tax issues for businesses of all types and sizes. He diligently applies this experience for his clients, and enjoys helping them cut through the intricacies of any tax issue. Within the broader income tax sphere, Graeme specialises in providing practical advice in the areas of the purchase and sale of businesses and/or business entities, dealing with the capital gains consequences of transactions, advising on the ‘capital/income’ divide, rollovers and restructures of businesses and groups, business mergers and superannuation.
Graeme believes that advice should provide two authorities:
- It must meet the immediate needs that arise from the situation the taxpayer is in, and
- It should also inform and advocate them so that they obtain a better understanding of their own situation and what control that they can exert over their future tax position.
In earlier roles he was a principal in a mid-sized accounting firm and also worked in the tax division Arthur Andersen & Co. He then joined Webb Martin in 2000 and was a founding director of Webb Martin Consulting when it commenced in 2001. All of these roles have provided him with the underlying understanding of the tax law and of the need for it to be practical advice capable of being understood and implemented.
Whilst at Webb Martin Consulting Graeme has managed the businesses growth such that it now is seen as an authoritative provider of highly quality advice around the country, as well as overseas.
Graeme enjoys the challenge of unraveling the facts of a situation and determining what course of action provides the best outcome, keeping the client’s requirements and the complexities of the tax law in mind.
When not at work Graeme enjoys the constant chaos and adventures that come with having an active family life.
