Meng Lee has over 12 years experience in the tax profession both as a tax trainer and tax manager. In addition to working for the Institute of Chartered Accountants as a tax trainer, Meng also worked as a tax manager for a large mid-tier accounting firm. He has also previously worked for CCH Australia where he contributed to well known tax publications such as the Australian Federal Tax Reporter and the Australian Master Tax Guide. Meng’s extensive experience has not only allowed him to develop considerable technical expertise but a practical understanding and approach to taxation. His previous experience has included:

  • Provision of tax advice to small/medium corporate groups on restructuring transactions such as acquisitions, divestments, capital restructures and management, liquidations, financing transactions and consolidations
  • Technical advice to high wealth individual clients and small corporates on general tax issues such as capital gains, losses and consolidations, taxation of foreign exchange, other cross-border transactions, fringe benefits tax and taxation issues facing expatriates.
  • Technical advice and support to the wider practice focussing on the tax and commercial implications of Government business tax reform initiatives
  • Representing the firm in numerous speaking engagements for professional bodies on issues such as tax consolidation, taxation of trusts and corporate taxation.
  • Private binding ruling applications to the Australian Taxation Office
  • Assisting clients with Income Tax Audits
  • Preparing briefs for senior counsel
  • Review and drafting of income tax clauses on various contracts

Meng’s areas of expertise include capital gains, corporate taxation and taxation of SMEs (small-medium enterprises).
