Sam Ayoubi joined Webb Martin Consulting Pty Ltd in July 2010 with over ten years of tax experience in consulting, education and training roles.

Sam’s tax career commenced with Moore Stephens, before being employed as a Tax Consultant with William Buck NSW, where he worked on engagements in the following areas:

  • Provision of tax advice to small/medium corporate groups on restructuring transactions such as consolidations and demergers
  • Technical advice to high wealth individual clients and small corporates on general tax issues such as capital gains, cross-border transactions, and Australian Taxation Office (ATO) compliance activities
  • Transfer Pricing engagements, including negotiations with ATO officers and establishing Advanced Pricing Agreements (APAs)
  • Representing the firm in numerous speaking engagements for professional bodies (ICAA and CPA), including undertaking the research and writing of comprehensive tax toolkits on Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and other Business and Property Transactions Toolkits
  • Drafting and Lodging Private Binding Ruling applications, objections and appeals to the ATO

Sam has previously worked as a Tax Writer and Trainer with Kaplan and the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAA). Sam has been involved with several aspects of the ICAA’s “CA Program” since 2003, in which he is a Focus Session Leader and member of the Assessment Marking Panels, and assists in writing the technical materials in the “Candidate Learning Pack” for the Tax Module. Sam has also held a similar role with the Tax Institute of Australia (TIA), as Lecturer in the TIA’s Structured Education division.

Sam’s greatest interests in tax involve SMEs, especially Trusts, and other anti-avoidance/compliance measures, such as Division 7A, Personal Services Income (PSI) and Part IVA.

Sam is a Fellow of the TIA, a Chartered Accountant and a Registered Tax Agent. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Commercial Law) from the University of Sydney and a Masters in Taxation from the University of New South Wales.

Away from work, Sam enjoys being away from work.
